Liberty Healthcare Behavioral Hospital for Adults and Adolescents (ages 7-17) is an exceptional outreach in patient care that offers the optimum in-patient psychiatric care for North Louisiana. Our mission is simply to provide the absolute highest quality of adult and adolescent behavioral health services with compassion to those who suffer from mental illness or addictive disorders.

Treatment goals include reducing fear/anger, learning to identify and understand one's feelings, develop necessary social skills and build self esteem. Our ultimate goal is restoration of the patient back to their highest level of functionality necessary for returning them to their lives.

The adolescent hospital is a 60 bed state of the art facility in Bastrop, La. The facilitiy is overseen by Board Certified / Board Eligible Psychiatrists.  The adolescent hospital has a full in-house staff of counselors, nurses, therapists, health information management specialists, mental health technicians, and a variety of other caring allied health professionals. AWARDED ACCREDITATION FROM THE JOINT COMMISSION

Bastrop, LA  April, 2010 – By demonstrating compliance with The Joint Commission’s national standards for health care quality and safety, Liberty HealthCare Systems has earned The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval™.

Founded in 1951, The Joint Commission is dedicated to continuously improving the safety and quality of the nation's health care through voluntary accreditation.  The Joint Commission's on-site survey of Liberty HealthCare Systems occurred in April 2010.

"In becoming accredited, Liberty Health Care Systems was evaluated against a set of national standards by a Joint Commission team experienced in the delivery of behavioral health care services," says Mary Cesare-Murphy, Ph.D., executive director, Behavioral Health Care Accreditation Program, Joint Commission. "Achieving accreditation demonstrates Liberty HealthCare Systems commitment to provide high and safe quality care."

Sherry Shockley-Administrator, COO says that accreditation shows that "we make a significant investment in quality on a day-to-day basis from the top down.  We seek accreditation for our organization because we want to be the best and we view obtaining Joint Commission accreditation as another step toward excellence."
